Stafford Rangers under 8s excelled in last weeks Rocester Football festival, despite the difficult playing conditions. Winning all fixtures played in their section and only conceding 1 goal through out, Rangers young guns can be very proud of the football they played. Fittingly, James Rowlands scored the last goal of the tournament as he bid farewell to his team mates with a trade mark jinxing run and fine finish. New FA rules prohibit him playing for the team next season. A fantastic performance lads.

1st June 2009

Stafford Rangers under 10's managed to beat the opposition and the hot sun to win the Stone tournament. It was credit to the young rangers outfit as they did not get to play the final until 5pm but still came out comfortable winners 3 - 0 against the hosts Stone Dominoes. Rangers dominated the final from start to finish with quick passing attacking football. It was no surprise when Jack Tomlinson slotted home after good play from wing wizard Josh Wilson beating two players and putting in a great cross. The score was soon doubled as Alex Mackay found the perfect ball to split the Stone defence for top marksman Ben Starkey to run onto and coolly slot into the corner . Dominoes tried to fight back but found the defence of Adam Pope , Connor Alldritt and the safe hands of Aiden Jackson in mean mood.. The game was soon killed off as Joseph Shanley burst through the midfield to find Tom Sabinon at hand to poke home the third.

Rangers Come out on top again!

Stafford Rangers Juniors under 14s competed in the Market Drayton Super Sixes at the weekend and just like they had done two weeks earlier at the Stafford Town Tournament, emerged victorious. Rangers started very slowly in difficult conditions with the sun continually beating down all day and lost their first game to Pentrebach 1-0. This was to be however the only set back the young Rangers side had all day. They picked themselves up to win the group with wins against Market Drayton Tigers, Llandilies and a draw against Shifnal Town. After quarter and semi-final victories they found themselves facing Gormal Colts and with one minute of golden goal extra time left Matt Liddell-Young capped off an exceptional team performance by Rangers.

UNDER 15s- HOLLAND TOUR

BAS BUDDINGHUIZEN 0 - 6 STAFFORD RANGERS JUNIORS

VLIEDORP 'T VV 0 - 7 STAFFORD RANGERS JUNIORS

Stafford Rangers Under 15s had a tremendously successful trip to the Netherlands [ both on and off the pitch ].

As the score lines would suggest Rangers were to strong for their hosts, however, Rangers played some delightful football and looked a team of real quality in both matches.

The facilities were fantastic at both venues and the hospitality was A1 as well, making us feel very welcome.

Successful trips to Ajax Stadium and an unforgettable night [ for numerous reasons !!!!!! ] in Amsterdam, made this a Tour to remember.

Well done boys, you were a credit to your parents and Stafford Rangers Juniors.

19th April 2009 - Rangers European Tour

Rangers under 14s enjoyed a successful tour to Holland when competing in the Europa Cup at Halmont. Despite playing teams at under 15s level the lads equipped themselves very well and were a credit to the club. In a tournament played over two days Rangers competed in 5 games in an age group with 16 teams, so to finish third and only conceeding one goal to the eventual winners, F.C. Ards was a fine acheivement. Some of the football played by Rangers was of a very high level and given for the age difference physically they competed superbly. All in all everyone agreed this was a very successful tour hopefully to be repeated in the future.

19th April 2009

Rangers U17s fine season was rewarded on Sunday when they clinched the County Minor Youth Division 1 title. The under 9's march on with another tournament win (Stone Dominoes). Impressing opposition and football scouts alike as they paraded through to win the final 1-0 against PSV Stone. A tremendous effort also by the under12's who were up against an age group higher but still reached the final. Despite having the better of the game and more chances, an early Trentside Juniors goal won the contest.

An absolututely brilliant start by next years under 8's. In their first ever tournament (Rocester) they made the final and beat Abbotts Bromley 2-0 with Aston Villa already interested in players.Well done indeed.

Rangers under 9's continued their impressive cup record with a 1-0 win over Bradwell Bombers in the final to win the Stafford Town tournament. Unlucky losers in their final were the under 12's who lost out on penalties to Brereton Castle.

Congratulations to the U16s who have done the treble : League Cup & Shield and won the Lichfield League U16s Premier Division. A fantastic acheivement.
