Steve Skelton's Soccer School
Steve Skelton started the training school on a Saturday mornings in Stafford 10 years ago.
‘I wanted to use my coaching qualification (UEFA B ) and also my belief in how football should be played to good use. I wanted to provide a safe and enjoyable coaching environment where boys and girls of any ability could see, learn and practice various techniques in football, in a structured but as I’ve said enjoyable manner.’
The school has grown from strength to strength over the years with Steve enlisting the help of his brother Rob, and more recently Dan Richardson both qualified coaches (Rob level 2, Dan level 2 working towards his level 3, who are invaluable and highly popular. All three have many years experience in coaching boys football from U8’s – U21’s. Steve recently coached the Rangers under 18’s youth squad, Rob presently coach of the U14’s and Dan coaches the U15’s. A big thank you also goes to Steve’s wife Karen who is also a valuable member of the team on Saturday.
The School has also been used over the years to provide a stepping stone into junior football with Stafford Rangers. Any boy or girl showing potential is put forward to Stafford Rangers Juniors Squad, and indeed a new under 8’s team is formed every year mainly from Steve’s Saturday mornings.
Any boy or girl between 5-12 years of age interested in attending this highly popular football school can call Steve on 07810 350670 / 01785 223703
