Match Reports - Season 2008-2009
Sunday 14th September - League
SRJ's 2 3 PSV Stone
Second game of the season great football being played and still no points.
Rangers were stunned after 5 mins into the game when PSV scored a great free kick from just outside the area and then a few miutes later from a a superb long range shot.
Rangers didn't let this get to them and just before half time were rewarded with a goal from Dexter Crust. However PSV scored again from the kick off .
Rangers came out more positive in the second half and outplayed PSV in every department. They had a goal disallowed after a very dubious off side was given but the lads didn't give up and were rewarded when Todd Blakeman put in a great header. With about 15 mins to go and Rangers now running the game PSV got very physical and all credit to the lads they did not react to the opposition's unsporting behaviour. Well done lads you can be proud of yourselves & dont worry keep on playing like you are and the wins will come.

Sunday 13th April
SRJ's 1 3 Stone Ajax
Stone went one up after 25mins, after a free kick was awarded just outside the area. Then with a minute to go to half time conceded a penalty. From the kick off Stone scored again but Rangers heads never dropped and they fought for every ball and played some good football which rewarded them with a goal from Dexter Crust 10mins from time and with a stonewall penalty, which was not awarded, where Stones Keeper came for a ball in the air missed it and took out Crust, the game might have finished a little differently.
Man of the Match James Judge.

Man of the Match Dexter Crusts 20th goal of the season came from a looping header over the keeper. the fourth goal came from great play from Sam Hartshorne who didn't give up on a ball that looked certain to go out for a goal kick he put it back into the six yard box for Jack Parkin to poke it over the line.
Keeper Jack Hardy kept us in the game when at 3-2 PSV broke free Jack managed to get a hand to the shot and as the ball came straight back at him he caught it.
Sunday 16th March
Stafford Soccer School 1 4 SRJ's
The first half of the game was very even with Rangers scoring first with a goal from Dexter Crust after 5mins.
Soccer School equalised after 10mins.
Rangers came out the better in the second half and piled on the presssure with Soccer School very rarely getting out of their own half. Danny Lloyd scored the second after a great interception from Alex Holt at the back he played it to Sam Hartshorne who put a great ball into the box for Danny to put the ball away.
The third goal came again from great play from the back this time down the left and when Johnny Grzadka rode a challenge and was left one on one with the keeper he kept his head and placed the ball in the corner of the net.
The fourth came from a great corner in from Liam Walker. Soccer School got the ball away but only as far as Jack Parkin on the edge of the area who hit a unstoppable left footed volley to put the game out of reach for Soccer School with only 10mins left.
The whole team played superb from back to front to keep us in the running for the league title, but after much deliberation
Man of the Match was awarded to Alex Holt & Sam Hartshorne.
WELL DONE LADS!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday 2nd March 2008

13.01.08 -Cup Match
SRJ's 0 6 Berkswich FC
The scoreline did not give a true reflection of the game. If it had lasted 50mins instead of 60 the match would have ended a very respectable 0-2 where Rangers had given their all but in the last 10mins just ran out of steam and the physical & age difference between the two teams showed. Liam Walker and Tom Forrester had great efforts saved in the first and second half. Man of the Match went to Will Doherty.

The start of the second half was the same end to end stuff. Rangers took the lead again with a Dexter Crust volley from a Liam Walker corner.
With about 15mins to go Rangers took complete control of the game and once again Liam scored from long range when the keeper misjudged the flight of the ball,it bounced over him into the net.
Shortly after Will Docherty scored his debut from another goal mouth scramble.
23.09.07
Topps 2000 Villa 1 SRJ'S 6

16.09.07

This was a great scoreline for Rangers but it didn't reflect the excellent game Stafford Towns keeper had if not for him the score could have been much greater.
All credit to Stafford Town they never gave up trying and with a few minutes remaining got a free kick just outside the area which ended up just going wide of Rangers goal.
