  1. Unlucky today guys, a really tough hard fought cup tie - 2nd half you were fantastic, pinning Newcastle into there own half playing with energy, enthusiasm and real desire, we took the game to them and should be proud of the grit and dertermination you all showed - terrific lads, see you all on Tuesday at training - Very well done to Tom Martin for his MOM Award

Parents please don't forget to let Chris know whether you'll be joining us on Tour in May.......Tuesday is the deadline

  2. Big cup match this weekend lads, hope you are all up for some good football, keep playing how you have for the last few weeks and keep your concentration and I am sure we will be in front so that any disallowed last minute goals wont bother us!!

I will have the Christmas disco tickets with me at the match, I know all the parents will have been paid so bring your money before you go Christmas shopping as demand is high and people are already asking for extras. I have had some great raffle prizes donated but we do need any chocolate/biscuits/drinks or anything for more prizes.

For fear of sounding boring there are a number of 49 club numbers still not returned and we do need this money, as I have said if you dont want to sell them just tell me but not saying is leaving me in limbo and damaging the amount of money we can raise. The numbers were issued back in August so three months is long enough!!

Anyway, GOOD LUCK lads for Sunday, I know the parents are really looking forward to the game!

  3. Chris - I did put a bit of a note together for andy to give out about the tour just to try to help out a bit but he forgot to give them out to the boys on Sunday!! Ryan wants to go and we do too although we can't make the full weekend if its the Mayday one as we don't land from Florida until the Saturday morning at around 10am. We would rather not go to Southport though!! Deb

  4. Hello all, just to make you aware that i will be asking you all to dig deep after Christmas as I have just registered to run the Silverstone half marathon on Sunday the 14th March for Help for Heroes and then the Stafford half Marathon the following week, the 21st March, to raise money for the football team. They are both well worthy causes and every little will help. Thanks in advance. Well done on Sunday lads and keep up the good work. Well done Ethan for MOM award.

  5. Folks, I have had seven players confirm that they want to take part in the tour which will obviously leave us short and therefore we are unable to move forward with the tour at present. I'm also aware that there is an issue with the original chosen venue which isn't a problem and can be solved. In order to move forward or seek a solution I need feedback and input from all as to what is the general opinion for the tour. Do we still want a tour, do we stick with the original plan, source an alternative venue or cancel the tour altogether? Can I ask that you let me have your thoughts and comments before training on 8 December which I will then take to the committee meeting on the 10 December, my number is on the top of the tour letter. I would rather talk to people to find a solution and as you can appreciate that isn't very easy on a tuesday at training or sundays on matchdays as this time is for the kids. If you want to discuss or raise an issue then call me, please be assured that I do not bite! The 10 December will be the final cut off date and any decision regarding the tour will be finalised on this date. Thanks

  6. Well played on sunday lads and thanks for the nice cake eth

  7. Steve Downes - Well done lads, as they say, 'it's not a picture, it's the points that count'. I think they dragged us down to there level a bit today, but the main thing is we keep on moving forward in the right direction and I think we can still win this league. Well done to Ethan for 'Man of the Match', it was a good Captains performance. Most importantly let's really really 'get up big style' for the cup match against our rivals Newcastle Rovers next weekend and let's show them who the 'real boss is'.

  27. Details for Saturday - Please be outside reception at 2.15pm, you will need to be wearing the following : - training shirt (as we're going to present a photo to the guy from The West Way), with your full home kit over the top for the guard of honour, please remember to bring your clean boots for on the pitch & some tracksuit trousers for watching the game after as it's likely to be cold, also please wear your sweatshirts and jackets as this is a valuable opportunity to promote our sponsors. Players entry will be free and adults at a concession price of £7.00, i look forward to seeing you all on Saturday

  28. Folks, In order for us to organise the tour takes a lot of time and effort and all said and done all we want as a club is for the team to go away and enjoy the weekend as in previous years. I have looked at the reviews you have pointed out and yes they do appear very negative. We opted for Southport with Sports Tours as we have had 2 succesful tours with them in the past 2 seasons and as an established company offering football tours to the paying public I would expect them to have a standard that needs to be acceptable to guarantee the success of their future business and suit the requirements of their customers? Southport was chosen as the last 2 tours have required lengthy journeys so the option on this occasion was to source a more localised venue. At present nothing has been booked, the letter has had to be sent out to establish numbers and gauge interest before any further plans are made. As I said earlier organising a tour for potentially 15 players and their families takes a considerable amount of time and effort and it is not my intention to organise an event that people are not going to enjoy. Can I suggest that perhaps you speak amongst yourselves, view what's on offer as indicated in Andy's message and then feed back what you feel would be more appropiate.

    Thanks

  29. Deb/Pete - i've read some of the reviews, your obsolutley right, to answer your question there are many places on offer to us our intention was to view before we booked anyway particularly with in only being Southport and we certainly wouldn't go to a place that's not upto standard. We were due to veiw this weekend but unfortunately can't be seen as they have a large function. Take a look at www.sports-tours.co.uk which is who we normally book with or www.ukfootballtours.co.uk, if you fancy doing a bit of research for us we'd be only too happy, the letter was designed more to get numbers etc, any help you could give would be greatly appreciated though - give me a call if you want to discuss any further or we can talk more on Saturday at the Rangers

  30. Has anyone else read the reviews and seen the photos on trip advisor of pontins southport? Andy and chris - are there any other venues/dates on offer for us at all? maybe we should elect one or two of us to go and have a proper look before we book it??? sorry to sound so down on it!

OK folks this week is the first draw. I hope everyone has sent their forms away as money must be paid before winnings collected.

Would all players who have not returned their forms please do so ASAP.This is fundraising by you for you and all the players will benefit, look on it as an easy payment plan for the tour with the chance of winning a tenner!

After some discussion, cheques/cash will be accepted but it must be either £13, £26 or £52 as it is making an easy scheme hard to regulate.

I repeat anyone unwilling to sell their numbers can they not ignore me but return the forms but at least tell me they are not participating.

I will attempt to sell them for you, anyone wanting extra numbers please let me know.

Lets have a big effort and good luck everyone!

  98. 49 Club Update:

The numbers are beginning to be taken up, however the first draw is scheduled for Saturday 3rd October so all remaining numbers require selling as soon as possible.

If anyone has had a request for extra numbers there are a small number available.

Please make an effort to get them sold as this represents a great opportunity to fund the club for the benefit of all the boys and parents and it really is so easy once the paperwork has been completed.

    Points to note

The club does not see any bank account details

We are willing to accept a cash payment however this will have to be for £26 to cover a minimum of six months draws.

When signing the acceptance forms could you add a contact telephone number.

Anyone unwilling or unable to sell their allocation could they return the forms to me.

    Thanks for the efforts

  99. come on rangers, we play like we did on wednesday and we'll win without a doubt!!
