Many thanks for the scouting network that were very active during today's match. I was hoping for a more youthful "find" but was impressed by his burst of pace. Your help is very appreciated and I am sorry that those who went missed some goals (one of which was a corker).
Well played to the lads who performed so admirably today but realise that we now need to show the same consistency away from home as well.
Thanks also for the lads who gave up their time to come and support even when they knew that they had no chance of playing. This team spirit will be an undoubted bonus when the going gets tough.

A great result today for the lads. Having trained them whilst Ger was away I was struck with how quickly they learned much of what we covered with ease. It is the beauty of being young and wanting to improve. They will continue to develop over the season and it is through defeat that they will learn the most about themselves and the league. Last week they beat a player and lost it. Today they had learned and beat a man to give it to another. They were more decisive with clearances and had a cutting edge. Is this their best result ever? A team unbeaten in two seasons, probably.Well done lads. Well done Ger!!

your right Ger , it is going to be tough this season , and could not get any tougher this sunday against last seasons league winners lichfield city !!! i thought we played well against sutton and had two clear cut chances one on one with there kepper ,and on another day might of put these away ,, im looking forward to the next game because this is how football should be played ,, yes we did have it to easy last season..

It was interesting to hear Sutton Coldfields manager after the game who praised us for our style of football. He also said that his team contained six new players some of which had just come out of academies (i.e. the big sky-scraper in midfield had been with WBA) and so the performance was probably better than initially thought. We did have some chances as seen in the match report which on another day may go in. We had it too easy last season and this will improve us rapidly.

There will be a sporting day on Thursday 23rd at Rowley Park with a 10.30 start. The day will start with a tennis theme to find out who is the club champ and who is the club chump. This will either be as a knockout or league depending on numbers (please bring own rackets and balls). This will be followed by some golf putting (hired from the kiosk) to see who can hit a ball in a straight line. This will be followed by a game between the players that are there. I cannot be sure how long this will all take (guesstimate is around 2.30ish) so please bring sandwiches (not tuna as Ger does not like them) and drinks. Parents can have a knock between themselves or put some of the upstarts in their places if desired. Ger is prepared to help with transport or child/youth minding if required.

Ger and Sue hope that everyone had a good time at Selsey. The caravans being so far apart was my secret way of making you all fitter. People have been very kind and generous and we are not sure if we thanked everybody appropriately. Therefore PLEASE take this as a very belated THANKS to you ALL for the pressies (wine, mugs, vase, joke-book and gift-card). A wonderful season that is not quite all over but was made better by the tour and the parents fantastic win at rounders (sorry kids but I could not resist).
